backspace on divisadero
we’ve added tons of new product to the shop!
though we no longer have a brick & mortar boutique (in case you haven’t heard, we went online only as of january 1st, 2010), doe products you know & love can still be purchased online or in-person at merch boutique – located at 629a haight street – home of our former store front.
we’re also pleased to announce that we have a new retail partner – backspace on divisadero street.
if you’ve lived and shopped in san francisco for more than a couple of years, you’ve probably frequented one of susan jones’ boutiques: sybil, jaxx (originally backseat betty) – all once located on upper haight street, or the original backspace, which was located in upscale hayes valley.
the latest incarnation of susan’s love for indie fashion and local designers, backspace on divisadero street (which separates upper haight from lower), opened in 2007.
backspace found it’s first home in the back of find (hence the name), a modern furniture store in hayes valley. when susan’s inventory and customer base outgrew the small space, they moved into their sister store, queen of the meadow, in 2006. susan decided to keep the name “backspace” to help her hayes valley customers make the move with her.
backspace carries a well curated selection of locally produced and imported goods:
the walls are hung with works by local artists, complimenting racks of dresses and sweaters:
